Myth No. 1. It was possible to make submarines in World of Warships, but I was too lazy.
The World of Warships project is dedicated to large-scale battles involving dozens of ships. The class of submarines does not fit into this picture at all: they are slow and clumsy, they are practically defenseless on the surface, and under water they become useless in squadron combat.

Naval battles were fought according to completely different rules and had a special, unique specificity, and therefore continuity between the company’s games is preserved only in ideology and the most general gameplay principles. For example, the role of “light” is played by reconnaissance aircraft, and the traditional tactics of tank destroyers – to disguise themselves and target the enemy from a distance – are impossible in principle in World of Warships, because a ship standing still will be an easy target for the enemy.
Interaction between classes is implemented according to a completely different scheme. If, for example, in World of Tanks, a light tank is unlikely to be able to inflict significant damage on a heavy one, then in World of Warships, with one successful torpedo salvo, a destroyer is quite capable of sending a battleship or aircraft carrier to the bottom. Well, or at least cause serious damage by destroying its weakly protected modules with high-explosive shells.
Myth No. 8. Weather in World of Warships will change dynamically and affect gameplay
The influence of weather conditions and landscape objects on the gameplay is still under active discussion, but we can talk about some general principles now. For example, fog and smoke screens will affect visibility and detection mechanics, and the location of islands and shoals will push the player to actively maneuver and plan their route on the map. There will definitely be rough seas and rough seas in the game, but you shouldn’t expect a storm: simply no one fights in such weather. 🙂
Another interesting idea that may appear in the game is the night battles in which the Japanese fleet was so strong at the beginning of World War II. Darkness imposes its own unique rules of battle: reconnaissance and detection of the enemy are of key importance, but combat aviation, on the contrary, recedes far into the background, giving way to artillery and torpedo weapons.
