Well hello my dear reader! This is my very first article and I decided to dedicate it to such a topic as “the confrontation between DOTA and LOL”. I played both of these games myself and liked them both. Now I’m playing LOL, because I’m already really tired of DOTA and there are times when it makes me really sick, well, not about that now… In this article I will tell you the reasons why it’s worth or not worth playing DOTA or LOL. Let’s dive into history first, just a little bit.
League of Legends is a computer team MOBA game developed and published by Riot Games. It was announced on October 7, 2008 and released on October 27, 2009. League of Legends has been generally well received by the gaming community and has grown in popularity over the years. As of January 2014, over 67 million people play League of Legends per month, 27 million per day, and over 7.5 million simultaneously during peak hours (not bad numbers, really)?).
Dota 2 is a computer multiplayer team game of the MOBA genre, an implementation of the famous DotA map for the game Warcraft III in a separate client. In the fall of 2009, Valve hired the main DotA developer, IceFrog, and in the summer of 2010 filed an application to register this trademark. And, in fact, on July 9, 2013 it was officially released, that is, “released”.
Well, let’s now understand each game, at least superficially, because in order to understand these games you need to spend a lot of time.
Positive aspects of the League:
https://wilberforceinstitute.uk/best-signup-bonus-uk-sports-betting />1. Large selection of heroes. (Now dota players may argue “yeah, they have a lot of choice, there are several free heroes available this week and that’s it, but for the rest you need to donate. 1111!!"This was done to make it easier for a beginner to choose a hero rather than searching and rushing from side to side choosing one of 100+ heroes)
2. Everything you can achieve without investing a penny.
3. Nice graphics that will appeal to everyone. (Yes, yes, to everyone. It certainly can’t compare with the graphics of Battlefield 3/4, but it’s not pixelated, which is good news)
4. Dynamic battles. This is what the Riots have worked hard on. Starting from about 10-15 minutes, battles will be very frequent, especially team fights (team versus team, 5×5).
5. There is a certain distribution of roles for characters, so that when you take on a character you understand what is required of you in this game. If you are a carry, then you need good artifacts so that you can later “pull out” the game. If you are a support, you must help your ally, you will have to expose yourself to save him.
6. The game is very beginner friendly! There’s no such thing as “Here are a lot of heroes for you, take whoever you want, do whatever you want and maybe you’ll win.”. No, here they’ll show you everything, tell you everything, and even paint it with colors.
7. eSports discipline. On the one hand, this is a plus, you can watch how pro players play and take an example from them (take an example, and not completely copy the style of play, please do not confuse), see how to act in a given situation. Two words “gain experience”. But there is also a downside. Most people have seen enough of games and start doing everything like professional players, buying the same things, climbing under the tower to kill the enemy hero, but in the end they die themselves, etc.d.
8. Large selection of items to purchase in matches.
9. Multiple game modes. Standard 5×5 on three lines, the goal is to kill the nexus. 3×3 with two lines, the goal is to capture points, kill the nexus. And, in my opinion, the most fun mode is ARAM, 5×5 on one line, the goal is to just have fun and kill enemy heroes 😀
10. There are no sudden crashes, the game works stably.
Perhaps we’ll end here with the positives, since there are a lot of them. If you highlight any other advantages for yourself, then write them in the comments.
Now let’s talk about the advantages of DOTA 2:
1. Very beautiful graphics.
2. Dynamic battles that also begin somewhere around 15-20 minutes.
3. You can interact with the map (cut down trees, finish off allied creeps, finish off towers).
4. Large selection of items, most of which are activated.
5. Events during major events (for example, New Year, Halloween, etc.).d.)
6. There are a lot of players from Russia and CIS countries.
7. Donat has no effect on anything at all. Only customization, only hardcore!
The advantages of Dota can also be listed for a very long time, so I’ll end with the ones I cited. If you have identified other advantages, then write in the comments.
Well now let’s go over the cons. The first will be League of Legends:
1. In order for the character to take on a different appearance (change his appearance), you will have to pay money.
2. Sometimes it takes a very long time to load into a match with players, sometimes it takes 2-3 minutes.
3. Sometimes you come across aggressive teammates, but if you calm them down and set them up to win, then everything will be fine.
Basically that’s all. I didn’t notice any more cons.
Now the disadvantages of DOTA 2:
1. Very aggressive community. In reality, in most games, instead of useful information about the game, you see stupid flood and gets personal.
2. Servers often crash, or even worse, “Connecting to the DOTA2 network” often happens, and sometimes even re-logging into Steam doesn’t help.
3. There are teammates who don’t understand what they need to do in this game.
Well, that’s all in general.
And now my personal opinion about these two games. I’ll start now with DOTA 2. DOTA is a really cool and interesting game. There is a nice picture, constant dynamics, good animation. There is only one thing that spoils this game, as I already said, it is its community. Seriously, in most matches you come across people who simply don’t know how to play it, they constantly walk around on their own, don’t help the team in any way, flood the chat, love your family very much (especially your mom). And at the beginning, when you yourself are just as crooked as they are, you don’t pay attention to it, but when you more or less understand the mechanics of the game and each character, you know how to fight against them (at least approximately), then it just starts to infuriate you. Another very detrimental factor is the eSports arena. A lot of schoolchildren (12-14 years old) have seen enough of Danil “Dandy” Ishutin playing and constantly take Pudge, thinking that they can play just like him. I’m not saying that all Pujas are like this, no, there are many people who play it really well. Another significant factor is that most heroes can, with a good swing, kill the entire team alone. I had such a case, I was playing with friends, and one of my friends took Riki (that RIKI creature), well, having farmed well on the line, he went and killed 4 players of the enemy team. PROFIT! Now DOTA has also become more or less kind to beginners, training has been introduced where the basics of the game mechanics are explained quite well. In general, if you haven’t played DOTA and don’t know whether it’s worth playing or not, then my advice to you is to try it! You may not like it at first, but after 5-6 games you will be hooked, I assure you.
Now for League of Legends. Now I’m playing exactly this, but don’t think that if I play League, then now I’ll be praising it here, no! League of Legends is also a very exciting game with its own characteristics and is more simplified compared to DOTA 2. There is a much smaller map here than in DOTA, so that players can move around it faster and create the so-called “action”. There are very nice graphics that don’t hurt the eyes. The teammates here are more or less adequate. In the League, there are more chances to turn the game in your favor, the main thing is to hold off the onslaught of opponents! I had a case when the enemy team had already approached the nexus (throne), but my team and I apparently decided that not all was lost and in the end we were able to win, since we stuck together and did not expose ourselves to enemy champions. There are not many heroes here who can kill half of your team, or even the whole one, but there are some, I assure you. I once played against Katarina, who with one skill took away half of everyone’s health :D. Well, in general, what can I say, or rather write, if you are tired of DOTA or you just want to play some kind of MOBA, then I recommend that you play League of Legends. I also recommend that players forget about their hatred of LOL and also play a couple of games, because it’s not as terrible as you say about it.
So, let’s sum up my ridiculous nonsense, yes, yes, this is how I evaluate my writing. Play what you like, you like DOTA, play it, you like LOL, play it, no one orders you or tells you what to play, but please don’t trash other games, there’s no point in that! The main thing is don’t be a nerd, and don’t sit all day at home in front of the monitor screen playing games, at least be distracted by movies 🙂 Thank you for viewing this article, I’m ready to see all your wishes and suggestions in the comments!
